A superb oil painting by the renowned automotive artist Gordon C Davies of c1937 Alfa Romeo 158, Ferrari & Talbot Lago.
Complete with a Limited edition Coalport Plate taken from the original painting.
Attached to the rear of the painting is a personal letter from Gordon to the original purchaser.

Gordon Davies was one of the UK's foremost automobile illustrators in the 1950 - 1970's working for car manufactures as well as private companies. His work is probably best known for his superb illustrations for some of the Profile booklets of vehicle marque history. This series commenced in April 1966 and ran for 96 publications. Davies was one of the principal illustrators. Besides his automobile work he illustrated science fiction stories, Eagle Comic and work for pottery companies such as Coalport. He was a expert in his craft and had the gift to give the different materials of the car such as bodywork, trim and tyres varying textures that bring the works to life. Gordon Davies died in 1994.
