This is a fabulous rare Antique 19th Century Oak Adjustable Reading Metamorphic Desk / Architects / Folio Table.
The top ratchets up and can be set at various levels. The green tooled leather writing surface tilts to various angles. A long turned wooden bar allows the top to be lowered.
Has two side extendable shelves probably originally for candles.
A superb quality and extremely useful piece of furniture that has many uses, i.e. a desk, folio / map display stand, art etc.
